He made the Son rise for me!

I work at a school that is 15 miles from my home. The school in which I teach is right on Eufaula lake. On most mornings I am speeding down the highway talking to GOD. I am sure that I am a funny sight to people passing by.. just talking away! But I don't care, the morning is my time to just really get lost in prayer. One particular morning I was totally having a pity party. Why me God? Why am I having to wait? What can I do different? God, why does it feel like you are so far away from my situation? Yeah, see. I told you. PITY. PARTY. No one was invited but myself. That was the horrible part. I was basically saying, GOD where are you? Then I glanced to the right of the highway and I saw the beautiful sun rising up above the lake. I saw the rays skipping across the lake as if they were reaching out to me.. the beauty of it brought tears to my eyes. It was as if GOD was saying to me. I am here. Look at this beautiful morning I have made for you. I am in control. Your needs will be met. It quickly brought a song to memory. It was a song by The Crabb Family. He Makes The Sun Rise - I have looked everywhere for the lyrics but I can't find them. But the song was basically a play on words.. God makes the Sun rise for us every morning.. but he also made The SON rise for us. I am totally not doing the song justice. I will keep looking.. I so want to share them with you... But now every morning I make sure that I look out over the lake.. and every morning as I see the sun light dancing on the water.. I smile because I know GOD is with me.

Everyone has those days: pity party of one. It is nice that you found a way to refocus your day on the positive. It is easy to get wrapped up in our "stuff" and so much harder to see the bigger picture. He has painted a nice one for you to remember.

That is beautiful, Becky. And God is so good. My son loves a song (I don't know the name of it) that has the lyrics, "The shadow proves the sunshine...." I love that. Even when times are dark.....the "Light" is still there, amen?:)

Have a blessed day, Becky!

I know exactly how you feel when you look at that sunset. I too am a person to spend time talking to God while in the car and of course singing along with my Contemporary Christian music.... ah yeah, people probably think I am someone fresh out a funny farm, but I just sing like no one is watching and who cares. My conversation and singing is just for me and God.

What a beautiful picture!! Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

Isn't that awesome and beautiful when your perspective changes and your mood shifts in one quick moment. It doesn't happen all the time and it can probably happen more if we let it, but it's beautiful when it does.

I like this post! When you said Eufala Lake, I'm sorry but my mind went immediately to Carrie Underwood..."Catch a crop of fish in Eufaula Lake" (you know, from "I Ain't in Checotah Anymore").

Ok, I'm done. Have a great day! :)

You know where I feel closest to God? Not in church, but out in nature, enjoying what he created.

Great post by the way!

I tried to find the lyrics for you, and I'm guessing maybe the song is named something else... but while looking at lyrics I found this one by the Crabb Family and I thought it might be appropriate for you today...

*remember you have my {email} should you need to reach out*

This Too Shall Pass

She read from her favorite book
Though I was small, what she said took
I never will forget her words, soft and kind
The pages were so worn and frayed
And there were notes on every page
Those memories I will cherish in my mind

(chorus)
This too shall pass, she would read
Through tear-filled eyes she'd look at me
Child, don't forget this simple thing I'm telling you
The day will come when you will need
These words of hope to bring you peace
This too shall pass and you will know that God has brought you through

It wasn't long 'til I would need
The help my mother gave to me
I found the things that God has promised, He will fulfill
Though weeping may last through the night
There will come a new daylight
The hope that I was given then, lingers still
