Every November I send home family homework. It is a time for my pre-k kids to engage in a project with their families. In doing the project the family gets to spend quality time together and we get a cute display for our room. It's a win win situation...
I send home a blank turkey pattern and a note explaining to the parents that they need to disquise the turkey's so that they will not get eaten for Thanksgiving dinner. It is such a fun project. The kids and the parents really get into it...
Aren't these so stinkin' cute. I love how creative some of my parents are...

What a great project. These are all great, but I love the guy with the antlers -- I was completely fooled.
That is sooo cute...What a great idea. The families did a fabulous job! Our first grader has a monthly family project...we have to make something from scratch that involves the whole family. This month it was, of course, a turkey. we made the turkey out of one foot and the hands of all family members. Our 11 months olds hands ended up being the tuft on the top of the turkey's head.
Sooo cute! You are amazing, what a cool project! And thank you sooo much for your sweet comment, I appreciate it so much!
Will you move to Minnesota (SW) and teach Kindergarten to my son??? I actually sent his K teacher to your blog to see your tshirt project. You have such cool ideas!!!

You are a wonderful teacher, Ms. Becky!;)
God Bless,
Amy:)
You have the coolest things for your kids to do. Everytime I read one I want to run and tell Toots teacher. I hope she doesn't mind me butting in. She did like the idea for Halloween I had. It's a christian day school and they let the kids dress up as long as they were not scary. I told her next year, they should dress up as animals and do a Noahs Ark theme. She thought I was a genious. I actually got the idea from when Little Man was in pre-school. Only problem was I had to buy 2 costums because he wanted to be Woody from Toy Story for trick-or-treating.
What a cute idea! love it!
Oh my! They are awesome! You are such a good teacher to have such cool project for the kids and parents to enjoy! Bonding time! A real win win situation indeed!

Love the leopard skirt. So cute!
We have a big feather we are doing, then teacher will make a huge turkey on the wall with all of the feathers. Fun!
Awesome -again- Becky! My 8 y.o. DD wants to be a Kindergarten teacher when she grows up, so I showed her this. We were just rolling on the floor -I love the lamb and Santa; DD loves Spidey.
Yes, too stinkin cute - those kids must have a terrific teacher!
I love the lamb one. So sweet.
You have such wonderful idea! I love it!
Oh that is so funny, what a great idea! If I had kids, I would LOVE to do that with them! Those pictures are great!
I am answering the question you asked on my blog...seems like there should be an easier way to "talk" to each other! OK anyway, I use Fotofusion and print my books using shutterfly..which is very expensive, but I haven't found anyone else that will print the books with the same quality. I have purchased adobe photoshop, but it's not working on my computer for some reason...but i hear it's awesome...
Looks like the PARENTS got an A+
Super cute project, and great memories for the kids!
I tell ya girl, you rock! I wish you were my daughter's teacher!
=0D
I just think you are the most fun teacher! This is an awesome project and I love the creativity in the designs!
I added a link to my most recent scrapbook if you want to see...it's on the same post, under I LOVE scrapbooking...
Great idea...you are such a fun teacher. I love the Santa one and the spiderman was cute too...they were all great!
Captain Chubby is the BEST!
That is a really really cute idea! You sound like such a fun teacher.
Those are awesome turkeys. A few other bloggers have posted their preschoolers incognito turkeys. This wasn't a project my kids ever did, but I wish they would have. Totally funny.
oh my goodness! I love those. My favorite is the basketball player with the bow. SOO cute - and such a good disguise! I really wish I played a larger role in childrens' lives. They really amaze me. Parents are cool too to really help their child develop their creativity and "think outside" the turkey!
I wish I had you as a teacher when I was a kid - but I think we would have been the same age so that wouldn't really work huh?
have a great weekend!
Wow.. that is SO awesome..and SO creative. I would have ended up crying and my turkey would have been eaten..
Seriously. That spiderman turkey? Awesome.
Oh my gosh....they are creative!
I used to hate when my kids had creative things they had to do at home because we are so not creative.
These are great! What a fun idea.
Kinda makes me miss teaching. :(
I love the sheep!! Oh and the princess too.
What a fun idea! Thanks for sharing all the designs.
